Learn English with trust

Trust me. I'm not writing this to show how good I am in English. Everyone has their own difficulties in learning a language. And I do believe that each one of us eventually has different learning styles and beliefs on how we approach our language learning. Who says learning English is easy? Come forward, and tell me how exactly you define the word "EASY". Success will not come without determination. You have to be really clear of what your goals are. What do you want to achieve? And what would you do to accomplish your target?

I will tell you a story,

"There was one girl who never fancied English. She hated English, because English gave her bad time when she was at school. She didn't enjoy English activities in the classroom, what was even worst was that she hated when her English teacher ignored her."

Can't you see the other two students?
Here comes the problems when the idea of favouritism is being practised in teaching and learning process. All students should be treated equally. What are the needs of choosing your best student and give him/her the special kindness and care? Often, in any English classroom or whatever subjects you have, teachers only keen to give the full attention to the students whom they feel capable of doing the task. You will actually notice that some teachers only ask 'clever' students to answer their questions, especially if the teachers have an officer who comes to observe their teaching. All they want is only a perfect lesson, and to show that they have done really well in their teaching. As teachers, you have to bear in mind, that doing this does not show that you're a great teacher, but it shows how badly you fail in your teaching. How sad! What happens to the weaker students? Do you really care about them? Do you encourage them in the learning process? In fact, you let them feel as they are left out. That they are not important in the class. Teachers should realise that all the students should need to feel as they are a part of the classroom, that they are worth to learn and be there as well.

"She got an A for English in her SPM. But that didn't mean that she was good. She reflected on what she has learnt all those years. None. Arghh, that was "rezeki". After SPM, all she wanted was to be a great lawyer. She applied law courses. But to realise that to be a lawyer she needed to be really excellent in English made her even more motivated to study English. She asked for her parents' permission to attend 3-month English course in the private college right after the SPM result was announced. She studied very hard, days and nights. Her hope was to make her Mom and Dad proud of her. And yes, she did. She was doing great. Really. She passed the English Language Examination at College of Commerce with 1st class. A certificate was awarded to acknowledge her efforts. Anyway, enough to say. She refused to be a lawyer, even though she was offered to, but she chose to be a teacher. Yes, an English teacher. No one expects that she will be an English teacher in the future. But Allah knows. He knows everything, and that is a part of His plan."

"Don't block you desire to learn, but try to find ways to unblock any of the challenges. You know you can, and you have the power to control your own needs. Trust yourself, and ask from Allah's help. Then you will be successful. InshaAllah"
